I stepped on the scale this morning.
And I was happy.
A few days ago, the scale said 226. More than a year ago, in January 2010, it said 227.5. That was my tipping point, the moment I realized I could not let that digital scale show me a higher number.
But it never happened. I took up running and I tracked my food on Spark People. I completed three 5K races and I dropped 20 pounds, but I’d eventually lose my focus, make excuses. Give up.
I don’t want to do that anymore.
Yesterday, Aug. 1, was the one-year anniversary of beginning the Couch to 5K program. I got to the point where I could run 30 minutes without stopping, then fell into my bad habit of letting things slide. So now I’m starting over, doing the program and tracking my food, determined that when I say “This time will be different,” it will actually BE different.
So here I go …
